ABOUT ME
Jan Bosse holds a degree in directing and graduated from the University of Television and Film Munich. In the course of his professional career so far, he has realised documentaries for arte, BBC, the German Foreign Office, the French Cultural Institute, the Central Agency for Schools Abroad, the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and Goethe Institutes worldwide. His short films have been screened and awarded at numerous film festivals in Europe (including being nominated for the German Short Film Award). Life took him to Kenya, Oman and Bulgaria for a few years. Today Jan Bosse lives with his family in Stockholm and Munich.
PRIZES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
2001 - Filmmaker of "Last Tango in Carlsfeld" for the arte/BBC series "My God, Europe!", whose producers are awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize.
2003 - "Himmelreich" is nominated for the German Short Film Award.
2004 - "Himmelreich" wins the Grand Jury Prize at the FIDEC Festival in Huy, Belgium.
2010 - kontext research grant eon Ruhrgas for "The Children of Sihanoukville".
